Intended for: All department administrators and representatives dealing with international visitors to UC San Diego on the H-1B visa status. You will learn the basic U.S. immigration regulations and general information on the H-1B application process. You will learn the steps involved in sponsoring an H-1B petition and eligibility requirements. This course will also instruct you on how to complete the H-1B application and exception procedures.
The International Faculty & Scholar Office holds its departmental trainings year-round. In order to receive credit for your training history at UC San Diego, please visit the UC Learning Center’s website to enroll for each specific class. This is an opportunity for department contacts, especially those who are new, to learn about how to invite international faculty & scholars to campus.
To enroll in a specific class (schedule listed below), please follow these steps:
1. Go to uclearning.ucsd.edu
2. Search for the course name: H-1B Status Departmental Training for Beginners (Note: If you have difficulties finding the course by its full title, try searching for the shorter term “visa status” and this course should appear among the search results.)
3. Enroll in the course 4. You will receive a confirmation once it is completed
